If you find yourself wandering through the charming streets of Vigo's old town, make sure to pause at Lume de Carozo—a delightful restaurant that is a true testament to the rich culinary heritage of Galicia. Tucked away on Rua Joaquin Yanez, this establishment seamlessly blends traditional Galician flavors with a modern twist, making it a must-visit dining destination.

As you step inside Lume de Carozo, the warm, inviting atmosphere envelops you, accompanied by the soft chatter of satisfied diners. The decor, reflecting the rustic charm of the region, sets the perfect backdrop for a hearty meal. Here, the dishes speak volumes about the pride and passion poured into each recipe, with the menu offering a variety of local specialties that are bound to tantalize your taste buds.

Don't miss out on their Menu del Dia, expertly crafted to showcase the freshest ingredients and authentic flavors, drawing inspiration from the stunning Galician coastline and verdant landscapes. Customers rave about the unique preparations of seafood, with standout dishes that highlight the region’s offerings. Imagine savoring a perfectly cooked octopus, tender and flavored with a hint of smoked paprika, or a hearty Empanada Gallega bursting with fresh, local fish and spices. Each bite is an explosion of flavor that transports you straight to the heart of Galicia.

However, it’s not just the food that impresses. Lume de Carozo prides itself on its friendly and attentive service, ensuring each guest feels like part of their family. As one delighted patron, Paul D. Bull, mentioned, it's "a welcoming and very friendly bar/restaurant with good food and service," making it the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring. And don’t forget to partake in a quirky local custom—leave a coin in the old stone wall for good luck, as many happy diners before you have done!

While the quality of the food here is exceptional, some guests, like Paul Rodga, have noted a minor quirk: the red wine is served slightly cooler than expected. But fear not—this is merely a footnote in what is otherwise a remarkable dining experience. For those seeking authentic Galician fare served with a side of charm, Lume de Carozo is a hidden gem that truly shines.

Whether you’re a local or just passing through Vigo, make sure to carve out time in your schedule to enjoy a meal at Lume de Carozo. With each dish, you’re not just savoring a meal; you’re indulging in a slice of Galician culture.

Nice place with traditional Galician food cooked in a modern and tasty way. Recommend 100%. As a (small) con, red wine is served a bit colder than expected.

Nice, welcoming and very friendly bar/restaurant with good food and service. Situated in the old town and definitely worth a visit. Don't forget to leave a coin in one of the available spaces between bricks in the old stone wall. It's supposed to bring you good luck.

My favorite place! The menu del dia is always amazingly tasty! It's not a cheap place but it's totally worth it! (not expensive either) Bon appetite!
